It is about reenvisioning our story as birthworkers and bodyworkers. We are reclaiming anatomy from multiple perspectives and applying new value systems not just to what we name in the body, but to touch itself. We are reenvisioning midwifery and bodywork by returning to the basics of connection. We are recognizing that anatomy defines the space and informs the baby’s “inside information” in the womb.
It is in this book where four pathways merge, and we continue to care for the birthgiver through the nervous system, bodywork, positioning, and employing gravity and movement to move toward new possibilities. There may be nothing to “fix” with breech-positioned babies, and in fact, it may be that the breech can mentor us, as it is through the breech that we can learn about all babies and how we came to be where we are right now as a birthworker community.
