About this listen

A shadow follows Sophie. Watching. Waiting.

Her instinct tells her that it's someone she knows. But who? The man she met Internet dating? The nurse caring for her ill mother? Or is her mother faking her illness?

The only thing she knows is that she can't trust anyone. Sophie must delve into a dark history to reveal her stalker. But there are some stories that should never be told.

Critic reviews

"So many interesting characters that I ended up suspecting them all, but then the story twists and you're like... what?! Loved it." (Shalini Boland, author of The Girl from the Sea)

I liked the confusion of the sisters and the unkindness of the mother I did replay the last couple of chapters so I really understood the final decision of the sisters . Good read

Worth it

An interesting story but too drawn out, so that I felt impatient several times while listening. There was a lot of unnecessary narrative, which is a shame as the concept of the story was interesting.

Too long

Would recommend this book, although its free i would say its worth a credit. Great twist at the end, keeps you guessing all the way through. Listened to it within two days, i was hooked!!

Great story

How on Earth did the narration for this get the green light? It’s supposed to be a serious, dark thriller told by the 35 yr old protagonist, but it’s narrated as though it’s a 65 yr old little old lady telling a silly children’s story. The 55 yr old mother’s voice is like an 80 yr old pantomime ‘old crone’ character!

I kept giving up but then forcing myself to give it another go because of all the reviews mentioning the ‘amazing twist’ etc, but when it got to it, the twist was what I’d thought it would be all the way along.

Had to play it double speed just to get through it. If you’re put off by bad narration, or if you’ve read books like these and are likely to work out what’s going on early on I’d skip it. If not, it’s an ok book.

Ridiculous Narration

If you are looking for something different & refreshing then go for this book. Really interesting & creepy in places. Written & read well.
