About this listen

“Gave me goosebumps.”

A murder in a meadow. A village on edge. A detective at a crossroads.

Castle Meadow is up for sale—and everyone wants a piece. But when a young surveyor's body is discovered in the heart of Gorey’s beloved landscape, Detective Inspector David Graham is drawn into a web of land deals, local fury, and fatal secrets.

While the investigation spirals, Graham’s personal life follows suit, and he faces intolerable competing forces for his attention.

As a property developer and a resort company fight for dominance over the land, the pressure mounts—not just to catch a killer, but to protect a fractious community from being torn apart.

With factions forming, tensions flaring, hidden agendas surfacing, and time running out, the Gorey police must unravel a twisted trail before another victim falls. But with his personal life in chaos, Graham is hard-pressed to focus on the job.

Can the inspector hold his team—and himself—together long enough to catch a killer and put them behind bars? Or will they strike again? And can DI Graham resolve his deepest conflict to avoid a life of regret?

Sharp, fast, and impossible to put down, The Case of Castle Meadow is mystery at its most addictive. Experience the heart-pounding thrill of unraveling a case that will keep you guessing until the very last page.

I loved this book. With so much going on it kept me entertained for hours, as I tried to puzzle out who was responsible. For a small Island there is a lot going on and you really get to experience the emotion, the trails and mystery along side the characters. This book sees the introduction of a new character and I immediately took to him and young family. I think they are going to be a fun assets to the team and series. The story is well balanced with character growth and of course a baffling mystery. What started out as a simple case quickly became a head scratching one with a number of deaths and twist. Good job Detective Inspector David Graham and his team were on the case. I love that the author does a round up of what happened to all the characters after the case is solved , it's a nice way of answering all the questions you didn't even know you had. With all the changes I was really glad to see that the series hadn't made its way to a natural conclusion and there is another book to come. Long may it continue because I for one would miss joining the team.

With the owner of Castle Meadow getting to old to work the grounds, no heirs to pass it on to and an ailing wife, he decided to put it up for sale. One developer wants to building condos and another a water park. Residents are furious and don't want change but it's not until a dead body discovered on the land that a spanner is put in the works. Was it an accident or murder? But things get even more complicated for Detective Inspector David Graham and his team when a second connected to the sake is found. Is Castle Meadow cursed or do they have a serial killer on there hands. With a new team member joining them, Gorey isn't showing it self in the best light especially with so many suspects. Can Graham and his team get to the bottom of it? before there new colleague decides to move back to the big city where it's quieter.

I liked the narrator. He always seems to step up the entertainment value of an already entertaining mystery.
I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
