About this listen

Renowned for his hugely popular narration of the King James Bible, Christopher Glyn now brings his considerable inspirational talents to a unique new audiobook of the complete Catholic Bible. And it’s not just Christopher’s voice that will be familiar to listeners - because this recording comprises his complete reading of KJV with the addition of the deuterocanonical books of Tobit, Judith, 1 Maccabees, 2 Maccabees, Wisdom (Ecclesiasticus), Sirach and Baruch, as well as additions to the books of Esther and Daniel to make the original full complement of 77 books.

For those who aren’t familiar with the distinction, the additional works are those recognised by the Roman Catholic, Eastern Orthodox and Oriental Orthodox Churches as being part of scripture. Protestants, on the other hand, do not regard them as being divinely inspired, but do recognise them as important books to read.

Who better, then, to bring all these words of God to life than Christopher Glyn! Drawing on a 35-year career as a Christian broadcaster and narrator, he delivers these stories in a uniquely expressive style that is filled with wonder at the beauty and power of God’s Word, yet which is clear, natural and easy to understand.

I'm in the process of educating my self on different matters of life and thought I know a little of the bible I wanted to know it from start to finish. I'm in no way religious but now know more on this subject. it took me 3 months to finish. The voice of the author did an amazing job of reading 100hour of script and narrated it brilliantly.

the bible...MMM!

My fault for not looking at the cover, the King James Bible is a Protestant Bible. It is well red but just adding the Apocrypha does not make it Roman Catholic; the sources of translation are different. The narrator is brilliant and has attempted to be sensitive to Roman Catholics and I must commend him for this enormous task; his diction is firt rate. I will still read it in its entirety though.

This is Not a Roman Catholic Bible
