Summary

When a sink hole opens up near the Australian outback town of Pintalba, it uncovers a pristine cave system. Sam joins an expedition to explore the subterranean passages as paramedic support, hoping to remain unneeded at base camp. But, when one of the cavers is injured, he must overcome paralyzing claustrophobia to dive pitch-black waters and squeeze through the bowels of the earth.

Soon he will find there are fates worse than being buried alive, for in the abandoned mines and caves beneath Pintalba, there are ravenous teeth in the dark.

As a savage predator targets the group with hideous ferocity, Sam and his friends must fight for their lives if they are ever to see the sun again.

I was looking for a scifi to listen and by accident started this story. Yepp,it entertained without freaking me out or giving me nightmares so it's thumbs up from me.

This story reads exactly like a cheesy b-movie, with plenty of monsters and gore, so it's fun and enjoyable with just the right level of horror to keep you entertained. An interesting creature, with a good amount of cannon fodder characters as well as ones to root for. The narrator was well suited to the story

The miners mother was kinda terrifying. I would love to see this as a B-movie horror flick. My favourite kind of guilty pleasure movie.

Enjoyed this one. Pulpy and grindhousey in the ways I wanted it to be, with a few moments that really dialled up the terror.

Cool monster design, just enough mystery to make me stick around while the body count rose.

Good B movie feel

The story itself is alright and would make a decent film but for me it just took too long to get in to the main story of actually getting in to the cavern and I found it frustrating that the story was told from so many different perspectives. I enjoyed it for a free read from the plus catalogue but I'm glad I didn't buy it.
