I really enjoyed this book, cannot wait to listen to the next one, which I am about to put on now.

There're some series that I enjoy each part of - from the beginning till the end. This is not one of them. Don't get me wrong. I enjoyed it overall but I started enjoying it somewhere around the half of the book and that is quite a long way, isn't it.

First of all, I struggled to understand their decision. Maybe I just come from another world (he he), but that seemed just too naive to me, Anyway my most serious accusation is that it's just too much repeatable. I know all those writing lessons tell you where the climax is and what is the scheme but I can cope with that. Although I think this isn't true. It's better when the scheme is not that visible. Anyway. Eve again had to had her bad guy coming after her, wanting much more from her, because well, you know in the past she hardly could get over her first marriage but now everyone wants her. The pace could live without that. Really. And that's just an example.

Sorry for another spoiler, but there's just a small part in which a daughter is flirting with her father. And I found it disturbing. You might too. Although I think I understand what was the idea behind it, I still find it tasteless. For two reasons at least. But enough of spoilers.

The second half of the book is quicker, with not so many clothes description, food, etc. And it starts being really enjoyable. Maybe my problem with the book was there from the very beginning. I just didn't fell in love at first sight. And I even regretted I gave it a go. But I persisted ;) In fact, I really like the second half twists of action and I even decided to get the third part as well. I just hope I won't regret it too soon :)

Loved the detail of New York in 1914 the narrator’s skill, the warm characterisation- didn’t want the book to end!
