About this listen

The Clockwork Murders: Sherlock Holmes and the Coterie Plot is a masterful blend of Victorian mystery, steampunk intrigue, and classic detective storytelling. The author crafts a gripping narrative that seamlessly integrates historical accuracy with speculative technology, making for an immersive and thrilling read.

The story begins with an elaborate murder at a prestigious London gala, where an esteemed scientist, Professor Silas Blackwood, falls victim to a mechanical spider brooch. This sets off a chain of chilling deaths, each linked to an unknown mastermind referred to as "The Clockmaker." As Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson delve into the case, they join forces with the Gearsmiths, a group of brilliant inventors led by the eccentric Professor Erasmus Finch, the resourceful Ada Lovelace, and the charming yet cunning Tristan Byrne.

The investigation leads the team into the shadowy world of the Coterie of the Cog, a secretive organization intent on monopolizing aetheric technology. With time running out and more lives at stake, Holmes must apply his unparalleled deductive skills while navigating a web of deception, mechanical marvels, and deadly intrigue.

• Authentic Holmesian Mystery: The novel stays true to Arthur Conan Doyle’s style, with Sherlock Holmes demonstrating his legendary analytical prowess. The deductions are clever and well-reasoned, giving readers the joy of unraveling the case alongside the great detective.

• Steampunk Elements: Introduction of aetheric energy and clockwork assassins adds a fresh and compelling twist to the traditional Holmesian narrative. Detailed descriptions of mechanical devices create a vivid and believable.

• Engaging Characters: The novel boasts a strong cast of original characters, particularly Ada Lovelace, who is given a dynamic role that blends historical significance with imaginative storytelling. Tristan Byrne’s charm and Finch’s eccentricity balance out the serious detective work of Holmes and Watson.

No lie. I have over 1,000 books.
Steampunk is my favourite genre too so I was really excited about this new audiobook.
As an American expat living in the UK, I think I am quite forgiving about accents.
But this American trying to do not only British but Cockney and others was absolutely horrid.
I have heard several Americans that pass with the UK accent. This guy is definitely emphatically not one of.

The worst narrator I have ever heard
