About this listen

Performed by award-winning narrators Simon Prebble and Wendy Tremont King.

A baffling murder. A master criminal. Have the world’s greatest detective and his intrepid American daughter finally met their match? Seven short stories published in one volume for the first time, featuring Sherlock Holmes and his long-lost daughter.

Sherlock Holmes and Lucy James have become a formidable family crime-fighting team. But one murderous woman has evaded their grasp. And when they’re called to London’s Olympia Theatre to investigate the strange death of a circus clown, they quickly discover their cunning foe has struck again.

Tracking the enigmatic killer through London Zoo, a fancy-dress ball, and a sinister occult organization, the erudite duo stays hot on her heels. Each time they close in, a powerful criminal mastermind intervenes, and she slips through their fingers. But failing to bring their enemies to justice may cost them the one thing they both hold dear….

Can Holmes and Lucy catch a monster, or is this the evildoer who will defeat them at last?

This collection of stories takes the reader on a breathless journey through five connected tales, plus two Christmas bonus cases. If you like Victorian intrigue, stunning surprises, and old-fashioned page-turners, you’ll love Anna Elliott and Charles Veley’s exciting mysteries. Listen today!

A wonderful collection of short stories, each one with its own strength and magic

Flynn’s Christmas: A lovely Christmas story that gives some insight into Flynn's life. But there is so much yet to discover! I hope we'll get to know him well :)

The Clown on the High Wire: A weird case that ends up being linked to the one that Holmes has been working on and foreshadows the next great villain ♥

The Cobra in the Monkey Cage: Following the arc that began with 'Die Again, Mr Holmes', this story is complex, filled with clever twists and engaging from beginning to end.

A Fancy-Dress Death: Another Flynn's story and I love him SO much! And I love how protective of him is Becky. But these two together? They can stay away from troubles *laughs* A short but very thrilling story that saddened me a bit when I saw how unworthy Flynn sees himself. Luckily, he's proven wrong :D

The Sons of Helios: A stolen painting, a cult of sun worshippers with a side of thievery and murder and a possible link to the opium trade, a worthy case for our gang :P

The Vanishing Medium: A direct continuation from 'The Sons of Helios', dealing with the sister asking Lucy's help to break the hold a fake medium has on her elderly aunt. But, of course, things are not always as they seem.

Christmas at Baskerville Hall: It's Christmas time, and they are all invited to spend it at Baskerville Hall, invited by Sir Henry and his wife, Beryl. What could go wrong?
Yes, you guessed it right: everything /0\ Murders, anonymous letters and a cave-in in the mine are all part of this less-than-peaceful holiday :P
A great adventure with some lovely lighter moments. I mean, c'mon! you only have to see Becky's letter to Santa *dies laughing*

An amazing collection!
