Working around an acronym - GROWER - the book covers Get to know companion planting (chapter 1), Research the science (chapter 2), Optimize the benefits (chapter 3), Wise pairings (chapters 4-7), Environment-specific strategies (chapters 8-10), and finishes with Resolve and refine (chapter 11).
It's a well-written, beautifully narrated introduction to gardening.
There is the occasional thing that I would have issue with, (for example, crop rotation is something drawn from agriculture, and is not always necessary, or possible in smaller gardens). This is briefly covered, but there is much (scientific) debate on the subject.
I would have liked a more detailed explanation of the relationship between "Companion Gardening", (the subject of the book), and "permaculture", which creeps in quietly, however, that said, overall, this is an excellent, well-written booked backed up with a lot of science. Great job!
Probably the best in the class
