About this listen

One of the great what-ifs among Pride & Prejudice aficionados is: If Mr. Collins married Mary Bennet instead of Charlotte Lucas, how would that influence Mr. Darcy's dogged pursuit of the elusive Elizabeth? In this breezy and hilarious re-telling of Jane Austin's classic novel, the author explores what would have changed - and what would have not - had two of literature's most self-righteous characters found their way together. Elizabeth Bennet goes to Kent with her sister Jane, and the fur flies! A wonderful, mad-cap romp!

I agree with a previous reviewer that the story contains too many large sections lifted directly from Austen. Not the sentence or two that it's acceptable to spot for fun, but whole bleeding chunks of it. The story also lacks drama that's not Austen's own.
The narrator sounds like a monotonous elderly aunt with no voice differentiation, not only between characters of the same sex, but between male and female. In fact she cannot do a male voice at all. She even clears her throat several times!
Sorry to post such a negative review, but I really took exception to having paid for this one. I usually enjoy P&P variations and have many of them that I enjoy listening to several times.

Poor narrator, scissors and paste story
