About this listen

The Complete Novels of Charles Dickens: Part One brings together Dickens’ first six major works (including Oliver Twist, Nicholas Nickleby, The Old Curiosity Shop, and many more), alongside A Christmas Carol and the other Christmas stories. This collection is seamlessly brought to life by a cast of award-winning narrators, including Juliet Stevenson, Jonathan Keeble, David Rintoul, Nicholas Boulton, Jason Isaacs, Matt Addis, and Ben Allen.

Dickens wrote into life some of the most beloved and well-known characters in the history of English literature, introducing us to Pip, Oliver Twist, David Copperfield, Little Nell, Scrooge, Nicholas Nickleby, Miss Haversham, and many more who have lived in the imagination of generations of readers and listeners. In this definitive and beautifully curated collection, you discover not only Dickens’s most loved classics but also hear a short introduction to his life and body of work from Dr Peter Orford: internationally renowned Dickens expert and the course director for the Charles Dickens Studies MA at the University of Buckingham.

Flawless narration, some of Dickens' greatest works, and pin-point production. Absolutely fantastic collection and can't wait to listen through and finally get to some of the Dickens novels I haven't read/listened to yet. Juliet Stevenson is the icing on the cake, her performance is absolutely perfect. Nice and easy to find each novel, too, which is always a bonus.

Really Enjoying the Performances

A really great collection that feels like it's been put together thoughtfully and excellently produced. The performances are all on point (there really are some of the best audiobook narrators in the business here - Jonathan Keeble, Juliet Stevenson, David Rintoul, etc.) and easy to find the book you want with the chapters listed. Would definitely recommend, and Part Two awaits when I've listened through all of these early Dickens masterpieces!

What a fantastic collection of Dickens' early-mid career novels, and so wonderfully read by the likes of Juliet Stevenson and Jonathan Keeble. Jason Isaacs' 'A Christmas Carol' is an absolute must listen at this time of year.

Everything is clearly listed by novel and narrator so very easy to navigate. It'll give you untold hours of some of the best novels ever written from my favourite author - a real treat and a great way to spend a credit.

Wonderful Stuff!
