About this listen

Isaac Asimov’s Robot series – from the iconic collection I, Robot to four classic novels – contains some of the most influential works in the history of science fiction. Establishing and testing the Three Laws of Robotics, they continue to shape the understanding and design of artificial intelligence to this day.

Could a robot ever show true creativity? Is it wise to trust self-driving cars? Will robotic body parts transform human beings into machines? Will organic technology allow robots to become human?

The Complete Robot combines the stories in I, Robot and The Rest of the Robots with many more found only in this collection – including one of Asimov’s masterpieces, the Hugo and Nebula award-winning novella ‘The Bicentennial Man’.

Featuring Dr. Susan Calvin, Donovan and Powell, and the detective Elijah Baley, hero of the Robot novels, this is the ultimate collection of short stories from a genius of the genre.

Performance and stories are excellent; only issue is that the copy I had on Audible had the wrong chapter headings after Chapter 23

Comprehensive and thought-provoking

Don't know where to report it, so doing it here. Chapter 23 is incomplete and cuts off mid sentence

loved most of the stories. Last one though. cried like a baby, even though I've seen the movie and knew how it would end. The way the author wrote it, really touches the soul

Brilliant value for money.
Isaac Asimov's prescience and vision is staggering when we consider the time he was writing these stories in. Now we have reached an age of robots, undoubtedly shaped in large part by Asimov's work, and looking again forwards through his eyes it is fascinating to reflect on the similarities and differences.
The performance is superb and the problems others have had with a truncated chapter seen to have been solved, although the chapters get out of sync with the headings in the second half.

Look again through Asimov's eyes at the world of robots we now inhabit
