The fact that it was written nearly 100 years ago clearly affects a lot of the premises / context, esp so when certain institutions (like the family) are being discussed. The various references to the roles of men and women are a bit disturbing, but you can tell Russel’s arguments point in the direction of reducing those.

In any case, Russel’s views must have been decades ahead of his time, and many are still so / too relevant. I enjoyed the book and even though I was convinced the title had to be over-selling, before I read the book, I found it fitting, after going through all chapters.

Sharp arguments, many still relevant

Makes Paterson's very good 12 Rules to Life look like A-level homework. The only drawback is the narration is not by Russell himself. If you find this book boring, start with the chapter on boredom. 🤔🤣🍻

I didn’t like the narrator’s voice. He has an American accent and didn’t fully hold my attention. There is much wisdom in this book. It feels more modern than it really is.
