About this listen

Sequel to A Destiny of Dragons

Sam of Wilds faced the Dark wizard Myrin and lived to tell the tale. Granted, the battle left him scarred, but things could be a hell of a lot worse.

It’s not until he reunites with Morgan of Shadows and Randall that he realizes just how much worse things could be.

Because the scars have meaning and hint at Myrin’s true plans for Sam and the Kingdom of Verania.

With time running out, Sam and his band of merry misfits - the unicorn Gary, the half-giant Tiggy, Knight Commander Ryan Foxheart, and the dragon known as Kevin - must travel to the snowy mountains in the North and the heart of the Dark Woods to convince the remaining dragons to stand against Myrin. Along the way, Sam learns secrets of the past that will forever change the course of the future.

A reckoning is coming for Sam of Wilds, and there is nothing he can do to stop it.

I layout loud at points in this book. I love all the mIn characters, I dislike the ones I am meant to. I am completely invested in their fates. Brilliantly written and amazing narration bringing these people to life. I shall bring them out and listen again and agAin.

Wonderful and heart breaking too.

What an amazing journey this is. I can’t wait to start book 4. I was waiting for the pathos at the end and pretty much guessed it but it was still awesome. I absolutely loved zero the sand dragon and was delighted to see Demitri turn up again. As always Sam, Gary, Tiggy, Ryan and Kevin, not to mention Tristan, were a riot! There were plenty of surprises along the way both funny and sad.

I knew I was going to laugh and cry.

The story and characters  are engaging and the narrator has very distinctive voices for each character, always a plus for me.

Enjoyable Story

I thought this to be a phenomenal book. I laughed so hard I cried, as I have with the two previous books, but TJ Klune also had the ability to have you feel so much with the characters. They show vunerability and emotion, that react to situations in a realistic way, the relationships aren't just perfect and nothing ever goes wrong. It makes the characters so real and you love them even more for it. This series of books very quickly became my happy place and I could not recommend them more to people, especially anyone from the LGBTQIA+ community. Just a wonderful series of books and a phenomenal third in this series.
Also Michael Lesley is just amazing! He brings these stories to life through his narration. Absolutely great casting!
