Rosa Larkin is down on her luck in London, so when she inherits a near-derelict corner shop in a quaint Devon village, her first thought is to sell it for cash and sort out her life. I found this a very sweet story, but absolutely hated the narration. Dreadful voice, but will listen to book 2 😂

Book is well written, I had to really persist to tolerate the narrators voice, which was a shame.

Wanted to give up half way, but glad I got to the end. The story line was good, even if I found myself tutting, frowning and groaning in places. The narrator is obviously very talented, but really grated, I would definitely have preferred it read by someone else. Everyone sounded creepy or childish. It was impossible to understand which character was good and which was bad. It was probably done on purpose but I struggled to really feel empathy for anyone. All in all though, not bad.
