I just loved the whole narration. The story is captivating and Jon’s voice is dragging you into the story and keeping you interested until the end. The music is wonderfully interwoven and the whole story gives you an insight in a not so well known part of history of Dorset and Weymouth! Well done you all!

An enthralling and excellent true story written and researched by Mark Vine and told by the wonderful voice of Jon C Dixon with accompanying enigmatic music by The Dolmen. I was completely absorbed in this story and enjoyed listening immensely. The real life characters take you into their lives and into their battle and I felt like I was with them every step of the way , transported from 21st century Dorset to 1645 as part of their family. I highly recommend this audio book not only to lovers of history but lovers of human spirit and strength . Fabulous!

The author Mark Vine a local Weymouth man has written a book that really tells a important part of Weymouth history he has written it with so much enthusiasm and vigour a story that’s tell the truth about the bloody Crabtree conspiracy ( the battle for Weymouth) .In choosing Jon Dixon another weymouth and friend of the Author was a Masterstroke as Jon narration was top notch ,the book the way it was written and the voice of Jon was a match made in heaven and really bring the book alive ..

Mark Vine lives in Weymouth and has walked the streets and areas that this story takes place in.
Jon C Dixon is the best man for the narration of this story as he himself lives in Weymouth and is passionate about history.
The narration is first class and is very easy on the ear.
The music and sound effects do not detract from the narrative, but rather add to it
