Summary
In the 21st century we may believe air travel is dangerous. In the era in which Mark Twain lived the same was felt for train travel. However, this short story allows the author to explain why he believed that lying in bed was much more dangerous and why he would buy accident insurance whenever he was home, but felt entirely safe on the road. The train agent in the story may have wished he had never asked the author a question. A humorous short story narrated by Glenn Hascall.
