About this listen
They want him dead, but he won't die.
When left for dead, a relentless warrior named Venir rises again to roam the Outlands, protecting helpless denizens from a bloodthirsty magic-wielding subterranean race set on world domination. Led by two omnipotent wizards, the insidious underlings gather an invincible army of slayers called the Badoon to destroy the scourge Venir has become.
Seeking refuge in the City of Bone from a battle torn campaign, Venir's visit is short lived after he crosses the diabolical ruling class of Royals who put a price on his head. Forced back into the hostile Outlands ruled by Jarla, a former ally turned enemy, he finds himself up against her savage brigand army that will stop at nothing to bring him down.
With enemies closing in from all directions, Venir, a rogue named Melegal, and their battle-weary companions must fight through an endless cycle of backstabbing assassins, fiendish monsters, treacherous terrain, bloody skirmishes, and waves of lies and deceit. Or see their home descend into total chaos and devastation as well as the obliteration of mankind.
The Darkslayer series is an non-stop epic sword and sorcery slugfest adventure set in a world where the powers-that-be play with the lives of the unsuspecting inhabitants.

Lee Alan seems to have three voices. Deep and gruff, very deep and gruff, or a childish whine that covers anyone not large and gruff. Every sentence is read as if it's a monumental statement and painfully slow. It's being read as if there is an exclamation mark in place of commas or full stops. That, coupled with the horrible whine was bad enough, but then you have random chapters out of place, chapters repeated, pages repeated in the middle of a chapter and it's a horrible mess. Will be carefully avoiding anything narrated by this person in the future.
The story itself isn't bad, it's not what I would call incredible, but it's something you can listen to without having to focus a lot on the storyline in order to be able to keep up. Is it worth a credit? Maybe.
Just.... that whining at the start very nearly put me off, it's worth putting up with it, or even skipping to about chapter nine or ten (I'm sorry I don't remember when it stops). After that, if you can tolerate the terrible narration, then it's a credit not entirely wasted. I gave it a good go and listened to the first forty hours, but couldn't stick it any longer than that.
High pitched whine at start, performance poor
