About this listen

For many billions of years, humans - having conquered the curse of aging - spread throughout the entire Milky Way. They are able to live all their dreams, but to their great disappointment, no other intelligent species has ever been encountered. Now, humanity itself is on the brink of extinction because the universe is dying a protracted yet inevitable death.

They have only one hope: The 'Rescue Project' was designed to feed the black hole in the center of the galaxy until it becomes a quasar, delivering much-needed energy to humankind during its last breaths. But then something happens that no one ever expected - and humanity is forced to look at itself and its existence in an entirely new way.

I've often wondered what it would be like to witness the end of the universe and what creatures such as humans would do to prolong the have habitability of the Universe. This book didn't quite touch on that as much as I hoped but it was a good story nonetheless. I also thought it was a bit anthropocentric for a story encompassing the whole universe.

A very interesting concept

an light (regardless of the doomy title) sci-fi read for when you're looking for an adventure, in space, narrated from the perspective of a funny at times character, to make things more entertaining, i did not really get that captivated by the plot, but it definitely worked to pass the time.
it was nice to have this included with the membership.

light sci-fi read

It was put in Hard SciFi shelf, which is uderstatement, I would not call it Hard, as there are no serious concepts or detailed world building. Presented ideas are simple and described simple, easy to undertand. I enjoyed it, hardly recommend to scifi fans.

Easy read

Unlikable characters, a butler called 'Puppy', and a whole host of cringey comments made what should be an amazing story into something that felt like a chore to get through.

A solid premise, let down by the writing
