Like other listeners I found there were just too many threads and too many peripheral characters to keep up. The whole thing was confusing. The narrator though has a lovely voice and made the best of it

Too many peripheral, underused characters getting in the way of the plot. Too many hinted at plot lines doing the same.
However, could have overlooked these of the ending had been any good. No dramatic tension in the build up and nothing there when we eventually reached it. What a massive disappointment.

I really did not enjoy this book....half the time I didn't have a clue what was going on! You reach a situation in the book...but due to massive gaps in the storyline you're not quite sure how you got there... very disjointed and confused, almost as if I was listening to it on "shuffle". I kept going to the very weak end but this book was not for me.
