Absolutely adored this audio version of a devils pawn, having already read in e-book format and having a sort of picture of the sound of the characters in my head I have to say these narrator’s where perfection. Alexander’s aristocratic background, the growly jealous, overprotective and jolly side of this alpha male and Imogen’s playful if sometimes bratty, young attitude were conveyed.

The Devils Pawn book one in the series where we meet the De’vils, a family steeped in history, mystery and tradition, an age gap/ arranged marriage story with 2 of the best characters I’ve read in this genre considering the FMC is a young American and the author is British she hits the nail on the head of encompassing the mannerisms and mischievous side of a young woman and the tragic past, workaholic MMC who never really let his fun side go full force, they both bring out the best in each other, can’t wait to listen to the rest of the series!

Spicy, sour, salty and sweet, this book has it all. I didn't think I could love Xan and Imogen's story even more than I did when I first read this book, but oh boy was I wrong.

The narrators were perfect and embodied Xan and Imogen in a way I didn't think was possible - thanks for making me sob uncontrollably again.

I am going to start this off with narration. These two narrators brought these characters to life beautifully. They both had a wonderful grasp on their characters and kept the feelings, dynamics and relationships all perfectly in line with the story.

Now for the story... the character development for the entire family was beautiful. I loved seeing how the author set everything in motion not only for this book but for the entire series. I feel like we got a great feel for the entire DeVil empire, as far as Xander and Imogen are concerned they had the perfect Enemies to Lover story without giving to much away I loved the road they took, I gasped, I laughed and I side eyed the author on more than one occasion.

If you like 'Mafia vibes' enemies to lovers with a little obsessive\possessive MMC then youll love this!
