The Devious King by B.L. Mute is a mafia romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Alan Stone and Phillipa Miller. This is the first book in The Hale Mafia series.

I loved BL's twist of the mafia world. I was hooked from the very beginning. There is so much mystery with this series that it kept me guessing. I really enjoyed the push and pull between Charlie and Teddy!

The book does end on a great cliffhanger that will leave you begging for more. I can't wait for the next book in the series The Vengeful Queen to be released on audio.

I originally read this book when it was first released and was so excited when it was announced it would be coming to audio. I definitely had to get my hands on copy. Alan and Phillipa did a great job on the narration. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.

I would highly recommend this book if you're looking for a mafia romance, romantic suspense or contemporary romance.

Charlie is the daughter of a police chief. All her life she has been judge and criticised but this has only made her stronger. When her father is murdered she finds herself dealing with Teddy. Charlie is believes her dad’s last investigation has the answer to his murder. Teddy is a powerful mafia boss . He had made a deal with the Charlie’s dad to protect his daughter. This book has action, fast paced with suspense, mystery, murder and humour, loved Lucas and Julius, Teddy's twin bodyguards.

Loved this story Charlie being groomed as a mafia boss. Teddy helping with trying to find out who killed her father I just lived the fact that Teddy respected Charlie enough that he wanted to groom her to be the boss of his organization. I can’t wait to delve into more of the Hale mafia stories.
