I didn't read book 1 which is where much of the references to the Heroine is drawn from but this book could still be read alone. I found Clara's feelings relatable. I like that this series is clean, Christian and the love bwtween the leads had depth. I'm sorry there isn't a fourth book.

The unbearable voice of the narrator, I'm afraid! I tried to persevere, listened in short bursts, but gave up altogether by ch 4. High pitched, screechy, over dramatic, very off-putting. Such a shame.
