About this listen

US army veteran Henry Miller embarks on a hunt at the edge of the Black Forest but strays from the path and finds himself too close to the East Cascade Mountain Range.

Something lurks in the forest on the other side of those mountains. An ancient race of Bigfoot that have kept to themselves for centuries, until one of them defies the warnings and roams too far from the safety of their home.

When these two intersect, alliances are broken and events set in motion that will leave residents of the town of Easton Falls, Washington, fighting for their lives.

I read Holly Rae Garcia's COME JOIN THE MURDER a few months back and was really impressed with her storytelling and tight prose. It was an absolute joy to read.
I just remember it having a ton of depth running all the way through. If you haven't read it, it's worth seeking out.

After that, and even though I knew it would be completely different, I added THE EASTON FALLS MASSACRE: BIGFOOT'S REVENGE to the top of my TBR pile for February's Women In Horror Month.
Yes, she is that good.
Okay, I started a day early here, but I didn't want to begin another book and not get it finished in time.
Anyway, this one is a collaboration with Ryan Prentice Garcia (Husband?) not that it matters, because boy was it a blast.

I read it in one sitting (around two hours) and not once was I bored. The pages flew by. It's got the tension and gore that you would imagine it to have with a title like that, but it's also really well written with great characters. I loved the setting, the pacing, all the way to the ending. It was just right up my street.

Horror fans will lap this up. It's a perfect way to spend an afternoon.
Its available on Kindle and Kindle Unlimited. The paperback is dirt cheap, too. Don't let it pass you by.
It's a beast of a novella.

And an easy five stars.

Superb

I really enjoyed the story as my first story of bigfoot. A US veteran goes hunting and strays to far from the path. Then all hell breaks loose. Characters were good and well written. Josh Banks did a great job. I recommend this story.

Watch out for bigfoot!

This was a short but pretty enjoyable read albeit with lots of justifiable violence. To be fair it's a horror/monster film story that's been told before, but I appreciated the fact that I've never read this type of story in the context of a Bigfoot. It was well written and I liked the characters, even the annoying ones aka' short man syndrome guy', who got his comeuppance in the end but not in the most satisfying way for me. I would have liked it if he also had the bigfoot treatment, but his punishment was very fitting in the end. It's essentially a revenge story with the instigating event being quite horrible. This trigger caused a crescendo of violence and confusion (by the humans), with undeniable brutality at the end. However it's not so violent or disturbing where you would be put off from reading this book, it is done in context. I liked the fact that the author included the fact that historically Native American's have links between their people and these Bigfoot beings. The narrator was excellent. The only issue I had was with the loud static noise that is played before every chapter, it was grating. I was given a copy of this book for free of my choosing and have voluntarily left this review.

I really enjoyed this story apart from a few things I felt weren't explained or followed through on.
Also, the characters were pretty meh. I didn't connect with anyone.

The story and gore, however, were loads of fun. The action and tension ramps up very quickly and stays high the whole time. I'd love to read more about these Bigfoots... Bigfeet?
I'd also read more by these authors, as their style was engaging.

A lot of fun
