A #1 LIBRARYREADS PICK!
AN INDIE NEXT PICK!

“Davies infuses the story with tenderness and playfulness, matching its themes of second chances, found family, and quiet courage. This wonderfully narrated romantic fantasy has just the right touch of whimsy.”—AudioFile

New York Times bestselling author Sarah Beth Durst invites you to her new standalone novel set in the world of The Spellshop! Follow her to The Enchanted Greenhouse, a cozy fantasy nestled on a faraway island brimming with singing flowers, honey cakes, and honeyed love.

Terlu Perna broke the law because she was lonely. She cast a spell and created a magically sentient spider plant. As punishment, she was turned into a wooden statue and tucked away into an alcove in the North Reading Room of the Great Library of Alyssium.

This should have been the end of her story. Yet one day, Terlu wakes in the cold of winter on a nearly-deserted island full of hundreds of magical greenhouses. She’s starving and freezing, and the only other human on the island is a grumpy gardener. To her surprise, he offers Terlu a place to sleep, clean clothes, and freshly baked honey cakes—at least until she’s ready to sail home.

But Terlu doesn’t want to return home, and as she grows closer with the unwittingly charming gardener, Yarrow, she learns that the magic that sustains the greenhouses is failing—causing the death of everything within them. Terlu knows she must help, even if that means breaking the law again.

This time, though, she isn’t alone. Assisted by Yarrow and a sentient rose, Terlu must unravel the secrets of a long-dead sorcerer if she wants to save the island—and have a fresh chance at happiness and love.

Funny, kind, and forgiving, The Enchanted Greenhouse is a story about giving second chances—to others and to yourself.

"Fans of Studio Ghibli's animated films will enjoy the way Caitlin Davies performs this enchanting story.... She knows how to complement the humor on the page with a colorful delivery." —AudioFile on The Spellshop

I love the two books of this series. It is like a warm hug that comforts me, no matter how often I listen to them (I have listened to the spellshop at least 6 times now and am planning on listening to this book just as many times). These books take you away from the troubles of your day to day life, comforting you and showing you a lot of beauty and kindness. I love to dream away on fantasies of my own set in this world so I can fall asleep easily.

I don't think that there is a big chance that Sarah the writer will read this review, but if you do, please write many more of these. Kiela and Terlu probably have a lot more colleagues that have there own stories about the beautiful places they visit after leaving the library and I can't wait to read any one of them.
