About this listen

The End of the Line is a fast-paced thriller set in contemporary London but with one crucial difference: magic exists. Abras, as they are known, can harness these illegal powers, but for con-artist Amanda Coleman – whose father was a powerful and abusive practitioner – magic is anathema. When her criminal crew decide to hire an Abra to help with their heists, they don’t expect to raise a demon, or to quickly lose control of it. Now Coleman and her crew must travel across Siberia to a remote stone circle in order to kill this murderous creature, who has destroyed everything they hold dear. But as the demon’s power grows, a battle of wills commences. Coleman must fight to survive, facing demons both in chains and within herself.©2019 Gray Williams (P)2019 Bolinda Publishing Dark Fantasy Fantasy Fiction Psychological Supernatural Suspense Thriller & Suspense Paranormal Magic

Critic reviews

'A dark and thrilling mix of fantasy and noir, brilliantly told.
Williams is a confident and exciting new voice in the genre.' (Mason Cross, author of Presumed Dead)
‘Williams creates an original world of wonder and menace that leaves the reader guessing.' (Linwood Barclay, New York Times bestselling author of Find You First)
Nneka Okoye's distinctive British and Scottish accents add to the atmosphere of this tale of sorcery and demons in an alternative London. Amanda Coleman, an Abra who is a con artist and an abusive magic practitioner, and her crew have captured a powerful demon and are trying to kill him in a stone circle in Siberia. Okoye's voice takes on the shape and the terror of a demon whose power is growing beyond anyone's ability to control it. Okoye floods her performance with emotion. The complexity of this story and the similarity of the characters' names challenge listeners and narrator alike. Undaunted, Okoye uses vocal magic to shift between accents and action, all the time pulling listeners into the fight to banish evil. A really exciting book that had me gripped the whole way through, I will be recommending this to everyone! Very well written and the narrator was spot on as well, which always makes a huge difference when listening to books. I think this is the first book from Gray Williams and I am looking forward to see what else he comes out with!

Fantastic, exciting and gripping!
