About this listen

New York Times bestselling author and BookTok sensation Carissa Broadbent returns with a brand new novel in the Crowns of Nyaxia series, The Fallen & the Kiss of Dusk.

Mische made the ultimate sacrifice to save those she loves—and plunged the world into an eternal night. Now, imprisoned by the gods and obsessed with revenge, Asar is desperate to find her again.

When a goddess offers them a final path to redemption—and back to each other—Asar and Mische embark on an extraordinary mission. Together, they must seize the power of the god of death so Asar may do the impossible: ascend to true divinity.

Their journey will take them through mortal and immortal realms, alongside both old friends and ruthless enemies. But as the underworld teeters on the brink of collapse and the gods prepare for a war, Asar and Mische must decide what they are willing to sacrifice for the power to defy death. In a game of vengeful gods and ancient betrayals, there are some debts that even love may not be able to repay.

I loved the first 2 Nyaxia books & have read them multiple times. Book 3 was a let down in comparison, maybe because I had high expectations going in. I felt the story didn't really go anywhere & the journey was quite repetitive. This book was a good conclusion to Mische's story, a much better book all round than its predecessor. I still found myself not caring as much about the main characters as I usually would but I'm glad they got their happy ending.
Performance wise, Amanda Leigh Cobb is always great. I didn't love the male voice and maybe that's why I couldn't connect with the character as much, it felt monotonous & bored in parts in comparison to the over enthusiastic Mische character I'd have liked him to have just dialed it up a notch!

Better than book 3

I have read all Carissa broadbents books and I honestly have to say that this book really disappointed me. Maybe it’s because I listened to the audiobook for the first time and the female narrator really got on my nerves. I did love the male narrator and I think he did an excellent job. Not sure if I’m going to finish these series.

Bit disappointed

The story was okay but I just don't understand since there are two voice actors why not split all the lines between male and female instead of just changing the voice only by chapter. It would be such an improvement.

Amazing. Literally a rollercoaster of emotions. Love the appearances of some characters from other books/novellas of this series. There clearly still a lot more of the world and a lot more drama to come which I cannot wait! Azar and Mische are chef kisses.

Prepare to have your heart ripped out
