Luca is a successful businessman who has purchased the baseball team in his hometown and turn their fortunes around. He knows that the first step is promoting the team and that begins with hiring someone to handle the PR. His first meeting with Isla is unforgettable and knows she is perfect for the job however trying to deny his personal feelings for her becomes more difficult with the more time they spend together.

This job is an opportunity that Isla and her son Charlie can’t pass up even if it means starting over in Cedar Creek. She has always felt that she was judged for being a teenage mother and is determined to prove herself worthy of the position and not because of being personally involved with Luca even if he is the most enticing man she ever met and understands her son in ways that few others can.

There are a few twists in the story which allows it to be unique but still has the heartwarming romance and all the feels that we have come to expect from this author. Heather Firth was a great choice for Isla as you feel the conflict she was feelings between her head and her heart while Connor Crais allows you to feel how supportive Luca is by allowing Isla to set the pace of their relationship.
