Feeling a bit like a mix between Kickass, Ghostbusters, Indiana Jones and various super hero movies with plenty of funny pop culture references, witty dialog and plenty of action. I would love a movie of this series!

I enjoyed this book, in fact I am loving the whole series, it is so different from my normal type of book and a lot of fun. I think it is the humour that makes it so enjoyable. Of course there is also plenty of action to keep it entertaining and with a good all round cast of unique characters it is a must listen in my books, if you like super heros with a twist. You also have the added bonus of having no idea where the author is going to take you next. This book does continue from where the last book finished off so I do recommend that you start with that one but other than sit back and let the book take you on a wild ride.
Gary and Cloak escaped being imprisoned on the moon to find his home town over run by zombies. Can they put the band back together to fight them off because what it the point of taking over the world if it is already destroyed. Cloaks relatives have been busy while he has been gone and now they want to bring back a prime evil force to yes you have guessed it take over the world. Gary might just have to team up with some bad guy's, some unexpected good guys and even make a deal with death herself to get the job done. Then he can take over cue evil laugh.
I like the narrator chooses for this series as he does a very good job giving the characters there own voices.

In this second book in the series, Gary (and Cloak) continues to live the not very evil, not very merciless, almost anti-hero, wise-cracking villain's life-style. His henchman and henchwench are still around but they seem to be more scenery as the new characters, including an impossibly good-looking immortal hero, steal more of the lime-light.

The situations are insane ("I would've succeeded if not for you kids!") and the dialogue just as insane (We will call you Mercy-Lass!) and heaps of fun. The twist upon twist upon twist at the end would make Escher happy.

An enjoyable, light read. On to the next book!!
