Summary

A blink of an eye.
That was all it took for my world to end. For it to literally crumble beneath my feet.
The Rift that tore through the land and opened it up to unearthly danger.
After that, everything changed, and I had to change with it. Any hopes for the future I may
have had, now lost and a new me forced to be reborn.
Each day in this brutal new world was a fight for survival. One filled with living nightmares
and all those myths and monsters I had once read about as a kid. But there was one
important thing I had never learned about in school…
Him.
The General.
The leader of them all.
Now, the biggest question was…
What did he want with me?
That penetrating stare, those dark depths searching out my soul.
That frighteningly handsome face that consumed my dreams.
Those strong hands reaching out for me. Enticing me.
His deep voice luring me closer and closer to the danger within.
Until suddenly, I wake to find myself…
The General’s Captive.

I went into this completely blind and I’m so glad I did this book took me by complete surprise and I enjoyed it so much.

This book stars with the word opening up and mystical creatures and coming out.

Alex is a feisty strong willed FMC and she has this personality that is loveable and made you feel so connected to her and you really identify. with her so much and Amanda Leigh Cobb was so fantastic as Alex! I didn’t want to stop listening.

This was my first Ryan Lee Dunlap and I loved him as Riley he has like this hero type voice and I loved the softness that he spoke with when speaking with Alex.

I don’t think anyone else could have being voice for the general other than THE James Cassidy his growly deeply voiced demands and it’s exactly what the generals represents.

I can’t wait to see what happens next!!

I think I might have seen someone mention on Booktok that this was good so when I wasn't quite sure of what book next, I thought I'd give this a go and really enjoyed it, the earth, now + magical world, post apocalyptic mash up was great, I loved Alex and found myself laughing quite a few times at her thoughts and comments, it wasn't difficult to get the gist of where this was going but I don't care, it was fun and enjoyable.
