I love the stories of E F Benson, so I was delighted to find a complete set of the ghost stories. I do find the diction of the narrator and her ability to demonstrate the characters somewhat lacking: Not terrible, but not great either. Really wish Greg Wagland would narrate the full set!

Great stories, narration average

I am very sorry I spent £20 on this version of Bensons excellent ghost stories. The narrator is using a constant crescendo and decrescendo which is not warranted by the text. This occurs in every single sentence. The pronunciation is peculiar, maybe supposed to sound sinister, but appears almost farcical. The overall effect is so bad that I can hardly continue listening. If I had the chance to exchange this audiobook I would do so immediately. Definitely to be avoided!
