The friendship between Lucy, the ghost girl Emily is so sweet and wholesome. Seeing Lucy risk her own safety to help Emily was actually pretty moving to me

I think spooky, scary, ghostly tales are my favorite to listen to on Audiobooks- when the narrator speaks in whispered, hushed tones or evil voices it is goosebump worthy. Alice’s parents have relocated yet again. She really hates always being the new girl in a new town and living a a new to her house. This house is huge and old and creepy. The first night she hears giggles and for some reason is not scared. She asks who it is and receives an answer - Emily. She asks her if they can be friends and they decide yes, as neither has had a real friend before. Emily cannot remember how she died or why she is still around so Alice and Emily set off on the creepy, dangerous quest for answers. Spooky enough for goosebumps but not for nightmares. Perfect!

It was unexpectedly short, but still such a good story! At certain parts, I was just standing in my kitchen, listening to the book instead of cleaning lol. Fantastic writing and character development, even for such a small reading time.
