About this listen

Graham Russell and I weren't made for one another.

I was driven by emotion; he was apathetic. I dreamed while he lived in nightmares. I cried when he had no tears to shed.

Despite his frozen heart and my readiness to run, we sometimes shared seconds. Seconds when our eyes locked and we saw each other's secrets. Seconds when his lips tasted my fears and I breathed in his pains. Seconds when we both imagined what it would be like to love one another.

Those seconds left us floating, but when reality knocked us sideways, gravity forced us to descend.

Graham Russell wasn't a man who knew how to love, and I wasn't a woman who knew how to either. Yet if I had the chance to fall again, I'd fall with him forever.

Even if we were destined to crash against solid ground.

What I loved:

1. The slow burn romance
2. The hero and heroine actually being nice to each other, growing from friends to lovers.
3. The deep issues and history of the main characters. I wasn't expecting that from the cover of this book.
4. The writing was so beautiful. I felt every emotion each of the characters was experiencing.

What I didn't like:

1. The hero having the body of a Greek god. It felt a bit too unrealistic. So I just imagined he had a more "average" build on the athletic side.
2. Although I like the voices of the 2 narrators, they didn't provide enough variety for the non-lead voices, especially when making voices for the opposite sex.

Unexpectedly deep. Beautifully written.

Wow! Lucy and Graham are so very different, but could not be more suited to each other.
This story is just as emotional as all the others in the series.
The writing is flawless. The emotions pouring out through the words, paragraphs, pages and chapters.
I loved listening to this story as both of the readers brought the characters to life. They gave them a heart and soul.
Again, as with each book in this series, I was mo ed to tears reading and listening to this one.
Brilliant series and one of my favourites.

This book is absolutely amazing - once I started, I couldn’t stop reading! The story follows Graham, a grumpy single father dealing with a painful past, and Lucy, a bright and optimistic woman who brings warmth to his world. Their relationship is the perfect example of opposites attracting, filled with heartfelt moments and emotional depth.

The book tackles tough topics like grief and past abuse, blending them beautifully into a love story about healing and hope. Brittainy C. Cherry’s writing is incredible - her writing is as captivating, effortlessly bringing every emotion to life.

The dual narration brought the story to life beautifully.

It sizzled out and lost momentum.
Felt as the author lost inspiration. A pity as it eventually became uninteresting and boring.
