Summary

The first three novels from the acclaimed Haunted series are collected here in one terrifying volume.

Haunted: Perron Manor: Sisters Sarah and Chloe inherit a house they could never have previously dreamed of owning. However, the girls soon realize this is a place evil calls home.

Haunted: Devil’s Door: Halloween night, 1982. Many people were brutally killed or simply vanished at the Blackwater Hotel—formerly Perron Manor. The events of that night have always remained a mystery. Until now...

Haunted: Purgatory: A paranormal research team is hired to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that Perron Manor is haunted. But will the team survive long enough to complete their assignment, or will their souls be forfeit?

As many have alluded to, the narration. He’s good enough at everything except for female voices. These come across as kinda cartoonish sometimes, but it’s tolerable.

And the story. The main protagonist, her time in the army is frequently referenced however, this is not fleshed out in any way. What did she do in the army? Was she military intelligence? A medic? I don’t believe female soldiers were in the infantry in the time setting this is in so, what did she do?

Also, there’s some inconsistencies. In part five when confronted with demonic forces a character uses the processes of exorcism and what have you to fight against them. Yet in part six, this doesn’t happen.

Anyways, well worth a read - some popular themes horror fans will pick out, you’ll see shades of the tv show supernatural, elements of the exorcist and other popular horrors. Despite what I said before, it is pretty enjoyable overall if you like the horror genre.

Worth a listen

The narrator is a bit annoying at 1st but once I got used to the Narrator I really enjoyed this book. It comes with 3 main books and a bonus book at the end. Hauntings, daemons and the occult it has the lot! Character development is also good. In all well worth getting just give it time to get used to the narrator and you wont be disappointed if you like the supernatural.
