About this listen

The promise of a new life destroys a family. And the curse lives on and on.

“Mommy, I’m scared.”

Five-year-old Sarah doesn’t understand why she’s afraid. But she is. Frightening things keep happening in their new home.

The house has a dark history. A century earlier, a servant girl with dreams of fame and fortune collided with the house’s mistress - a British aristocrat bent on securing her place in proper society. The tension between these women began with small things, built to prickly pressure, and then exploded into raging mayhem, tearing the entire household apart. Fury, vengeance, and hatred infuse the very walls of Crawley House.

Sarah shouldn’t be afraid. She should be terrified of what is in store for her and her family.

Great narration and story, looking for the next one. Not too spooky A lovely ghost story.

Loved it, kept me amused even though predictable. A lovely ghost story

I very much enjoyed this, it’s not going to scare the bejesus out of anyone but like an old pair of worn slippers it’s just the thing on cold dark nights.

Great winter tale

I really enjoyed this book and although I don't like to spend my credits on books less than 6 or 7 hours long I feel this one could have been cut to an hour shorter, the first have dragged a little but glad I persevered. not sure the narrator was right for this though but thats only my opinion.

very good

I loved this book so much. I could picture every part of it. The only negative is the narrator’s attempt at Irish accent. That was an accent I’ve never heard of, mixed with Canadian. Don’t let it put you off a very good story.

Couldn’t put it down
