This was my second jojo moyse book and definately won't be my last.
I have little interest in horses but after a slow start this book gripped me , the characters were well formed and the story touching and satisfying.

Firstly, another stunning narration by Julia Franklin. How she brings these characters to life!

For the story itself, it winds from the past to the present and back again with such clarity that you never feel unsure of which time frame you are in. The characters are just so believable and although you want to shake Sarah, anyone who has contact with a teenage girl will recognise her immediately. She could have been my truculent daughter at that age!

The ending wasn't predictable, but absolutely lovely. You will so enjoy this listen. Be prepared for additional ironing, gardening, walking or whatever you do when listening!

Gripping and un-put-downable!

The story is very well written and captures the imaginations quickly, as does all of Jojo's books. The story though is darker than her normal stories though.

pretty dark story for Jojo

As a child of council estates and a love of horses unknown to any of my family this book resonated with me on many levels. It is well researched, as you would expect from Jojo, and as ever well written. The Characters are believable and made me cry at times with the emotion of hope and humanity to Sarah. If you are a lover of classical horsemanship you will love this book. If you are a lover of Jojo this book will not disappoint. The narrator is easy to listen to and skilfully changes from each character never leaving you to wonder who is talking. This is one I will listen to again one day.

Wonderful getaway
