Wow! Book 2 of The Children and the Gods by Angel Van Atta definitely packs a punch in terms of tension, creepiness and complex plot.

I loved book 1, so I was looking forward to continuing the series, but I never expected to become so invested in the story of this house and the fate of its various inhabitants throughout the many years.
Angel’s writing as well is so descriptive, able to create a full picture of the events in the reader’s mind and to convey emotions in such a powerful way.

This story was tense and difficult at times, but I loved the ending and how the characters manage to both fight their demons and come together as a family too! The creativity of the author is so that she managed to create such an original ghost story, with some wonderful characters reminiscent of Tolkien.

What I found a bit difficult was the narrator, as I listened to the audiobook. Unfortunately, the narration didn’t agree with me and I would have benefitted more by reading the book. But this is my personal experience and I urge you to give this story a go as it was great!

Thanks to the author for the opportunity to listen to it and this is my honest opinion.

Tense, creepy and inventive ghost story!
