One of them has killed before.
One of them will kill again.

In the sweltering summer of 1997, straight-laced, straight-A student Karen met Biba - a bohemian and impossibly glamorous aspiring actress. A few months later, two people were dead and another had been sent to prison.

Having stood by Rex as he served his sentence, Karen is now married to him with a daughter, Alice, who runs a vintage clothing company in London. They're a normal family, as long as they don't talk about the past, never mention the name Biba, and ignore Alice's flashes of dark, dangerous fury.

Karen has kept what really happened that summer of '97 hidden deep inside her. Alice is keeping secrets of her own. But when anonymous notes begin to arrive at Alice's shop, it seems the past is about to catch up with them all ...

'When it comes to deeply involving, twisty thrillers, Erin Kelly is in a league of her own. The House of mirrors is a magnificent mystery that begs to be read in a single sitting but deserves to be pored over slowly, every word savoured. Possibly the finest thriller you'll read all year' CHARLOTTE PHILBY
'Erin Kelly is quite simply one of the best crime writers around. The House of Mirrors is a totally absorbing story of family secrets, omissions and outright lies, with unforgettable characters and settings. It is impeccably plotted down to the very last line. I loved it' JANE CASEY

Erin Kelly is a magician. She draws you into the convoluted lives of apparently (mostly) ordinary people & the dangerous webs they weave…it’s thrilling. Read so perfectly by the actors, it’s compulsive listening. Thank you Erin

I have been taking the long way to work all week to cram another few lines of this amazing novel. I’ve been on the edge of my seat as it twists and turns with energy and skill around a great plot. What a great ‘non sequal’ to The Poison Tree - loved it!

Made me late for work!

I loved this book. It's a similar style to Lisa Jewell, full of interesting characters and intriguing stories. Claire Corbett, one of the narrators is amazing and the others were good too. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a good story.

It was a bit repetitive, of the previous book but eventually it all made sense. The accents of the younger women made no sense, they really wouldn’t have those accents but it seems to be part of the book and helped distinguish them on audio. It didn’t quite all come to a satisfactory ending, but with the mention of a podcast and another thing, then maybe another book or we just imagine what might happen.
