Critic reviews
“Bawdy romp one minute, a gruesome tragedy the next. The writing is beautiful, witty, grisly and moving” ( Sunday Telegraph)
“If you liked The Other Boleyn Girl then this book is certainly one to adore” ( Female First)
“Teulé effortlessly paints a vivid and detailed picture of life in 17th century France” ( Edinburgh Evening News)
“This wonderful romp through the ballrooms and bedrooms of Louis XIV’s Paris is a real treat” (Bella)
“Satisfyingly excessive and bawdy” ( History Today)

I cannot even give it more stars for the narration as that was also lack lustre.
The main characters were weak and I kept wishing something exciting would happen, sadly this did not happen.
I am sure there will be some-one who will rubbish this review but will leave it up to the listener to decide. I cannot recommend this.
