Slaughter’s story twists and turns in inimitable style
Great thriller
Karin Slaughter has once again delivered a dark and twisted thriller that hits all the buttons that readers love in her books … I cannot recommend The Kept Woman highly enough

Loved this book.
Karin Slaughter kept me guessing throughout, interested to see where the next book goes.

Gripping. One of the best in the series..

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

I would only recommend this to someone who is heavily into police jargon and the lives of people connected to US police procedures. There was probably a story there somewhere but it got lost in all the detail.

Has The Kept Woman put you off other books in this genre?

Absolutely. Will avoid in future. Was unnecessarily long-winded with too many diversions as if the author had set a target for the number of words for the novel.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

She tried valiantly to give each character a distinct audio personality but there were just too many characters.

Did The Kept Woman inspire you to do anything?

Finish it as quickly as possible. I was hoping until the end that a proper story would emerge. I have given the book 3 stars overall as I did succeed in finishing it despite many times feeling that I should just give up and move on to something more interesting.

An excellent story that keeps a fast pace. Slaughter has skilfully built on the characters again for fans, whilst still allowing the story to be stand alone for new readers. The audio book was really well performed too.

Slaughter is excellent as always

Who knew there were so many horrible people in the world. Normally books have a couple of villains with their henchmen but this book seemed to have way more than the usual allocation.
Karin Slaughter is on good form with this book, lots of action, twists and turns and, as I said, horrible people who make you grateful that you're just reading about them.
