About this listen
Laird Finlay Dalreagh, Earl of Dunrannoch. Roguishly charming. A sexy beast in the bed chamber. And an utter failure… at keeping hold of his wife.
Finlay has just one chance to make things right. Snowed in at Castle Dunrannoch, can he convince the one and only lass he adores that he’s worthy of her love?
Warning: this juicy little novella features a haunted castle, a raging blizzard on the Highland moors, a dozy deerhound, one extremely determined Scot, and a fiery lass determined to resist him.
Tropes and Themes:
- Forced Proximity
- Rekindled love / second chance
- Estranged couple
- New Year / Christmas / Hogmanay

There were many emotional moments in this story, and at times, I was with Finlay in the belief that all hope for a reconciliation was lost. Margaret didn't seem able to, at least, give him a decent hearing. She did, however, acknowledge, if only to herself, how much she missed him and how much she enjoyed the passion they shared between the sheets. Even though they were estranged, they took advantage of their snowed-in time and enjoyed some very steamy bed sport!
Did they have their happy ever after? You will need to read the book to discover that for yourself!
The narrator of the story did a fabulous job. I particularly enjoyed his characterisation of Finlay with his Scottish brogue! He really brings a story to life. Add to that the music and sound snippets and this book is uniquely entertaining. I definitely want to listen to the other books in the series!
Melt the snow romance!

It’s another great story in this series of standalone stories, all in which the book “The Lady’s Guide to All Things Useful” plays a part. I loved it!
And I also loved that Margaret is a woman who knows what she wants (and what she doesn’t want) and speaks her mind:
~~Finlay winced. One thing about Margaret: she didn’t mince her words.~~
Will Finley and Margaret be reunited? Read or listen to this book and find out!
~~Whit’s fur ye’ll no go by ye.~~
~~The dream you’re chasing might just be chasing you too.~~
Excellent!

Dunrannoch Castle in snow-covered Scotland is the perfect setting for the married but estranged Margaret and Finley. Their friction-filled relationship is charged with emotion and desire – a sizzling dynamic that completely drew me in. A beautiful listen and a great addition to the series!

Gotta give it to the Male lead though, Laird Finlay does not give up and keeps on trying!
Gareth our Narrator has also done an excellent job! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 very well deserved!
