About this listen

Raw and unflinching

This is a mother’s account of her daughter’s life

And of Katie Price and her turbulent rise to fame

The Sunday Times bestselling memoir from Amy Price.

Katie Price’s life has long been lived in the public eye, documented both by her own books, reality tv, and the tabloids. But what does this story look like from the inside?

While battling a terminal illness, Katie’s mother, Amy Price, has the last word in this honest and insightful memoir, where she reveals how her family’s past has shaped her daughter’s future.

The Last Word is the definitive story of how Katrina Amy Alexandria Alexis Infield became Katie Price. It documents how her life has been shaped by a tradition of strong women, by cycles of abuse which have been repeated through generations, and by the impact of fame and trauma on a close family unit.

With tributes read by Kate, Sophie, Dan, and Paul Price.

I enjoyed every minute of listening to Amy’s book. It certainly helped with my step count when out waking the dog as I didn’t want to stop listening. Thank you Amy for sharing your lift with readers and listeners. Your love for your family is how all mums should be, sadly that’s not the case for many. Kate is extremely lucky to have your support and I’m sure that is why she is still with us today. May you have many more road trips with Price and walks along the sand and many more Christmas’s with your kids and grandkids. Can I just say for woman of your age your absolutely gorgeous. Wish you a long and happy future. God bless. Xx

I absolutely loved this book. Never been a fan of Katie Price never had an opinion on her really. Apart from feeling sad for how such a beautiful girl has ruined herself with plastic surgery. However, listening to this story has made me look at things differently. Especially regarding her husband, Peter Andre. What a wonderful tribute to her family. Had me in tears at the end. I thought it was wonderful. Xxx

I'll start by saying I'm neither a fan nor a hater of Katie Price. I'm neutral. My view, for what it is worth, is that Katie doesn't help herself but at the same time she courts controversy as it makes her money.

So I listened to this book and was surprised to find that I really enjoyed it. Of course Amy is going to defend Katie, she is her mother. But actually she also is critical of Katie's actions, whilst also demonstrating a mother's true love. Amy comes across as honest, warm, caring and a true matriarch of her family. She is down to earth and offers a different lense on which to view Katie's antics and how the "fame game" works. I hear Saint Peter Andre is "considering suing" Amy? For what? For being truthful? We are all grown up enough to know that nobody is black or white - yet we've seen the media machine portray one-hit-wonder-Pete as the saint and Katie as the demon. It's really about time someone balances those scales and Amy does that.

I wish Amy and her family all the best.

A very honest account.
