I have wanted to read this for a while, but didn't get past the first chapter. Listening to it whilst on holiday has been a joy

Great Story Telling

The Last of the Mohicans is an insightful, historico-political and ethnographic drama of North America in the late 1700’s; deeply poignant and packed w action and suspense.
There is love and loyalty on a panorama of a cruel manipulative struggle for colonial power and the destruction of the native Indians.
The style is dated, but well constructed and the plot moving, with awesome descriptions of the land and characters, both heroes and villains that are complex and with whom we can empathise.
Not a Great American novel ?

Epic

The voice given to one of the main characters is like something out of Micky Mouse - I was appalled and bitterly disappointed. Could not wait to switch it off

Bitterly Disappointed
