Summary

It's 1757. The fate of North America is in the hands of the French, the British, and the Native Americans. Each party weaves its warlike path in this tapestry of adventure. Meet Hawkeye, Uncas, and Chingatchgook - each a stealthy iron-browed warrior of the mystifying forest. Discover the unscrupulous and sinister Magua, banished and determined to become the leader of his people.

Originally published in 1826, The Last of the Mohicans is the second historical novel in the Leatherstocking Tales pentalogy and is best known to contemporary audiences. Since its publication, it has remained one of the most popular novels in English and is widely read in American literature courses today.

I recently watched the movie and wanted to know more about the characters, so bought the book. There is no additional character development in the book, but 10 additional hours of unnecessary Georgian babble. It is repetitive and boring. A painful journey.
