This was really good, it was so addictive I needed to know what is happening next. It was so well written and the characters developed. The plot was so unusual, I just loved it, am so glad that I found both the narrator and author. I must admit after listening to the story I did restart speaking Australian much to my family's annoyance and it brought back memories of country towns back home (although not to this extent)

The book is set in 1983 , but starts in 1951 as Gloria’s drunken, abusive husband return from the pub. Set in the middle of Australia where the locals know everyone, there is an increase in strangers as Miriam Forster literally rolls into town and cannot leave until her car is fixed.
