Be warned - you probably won't be able to buy only one book of this series. Excellent narration, a wonderful sense of place, characters both believable and engaging.

As a lover of crime novels I found this quite perfect. An intelligent and engrossing story, beautifully read by Emma Gregory who has impeccable pronunciation of difficult names and places. Her voice is just right for a tale of savagery, soulfulness and, ultimately, family history and the fates thereof.
Let's hope Redondo writes more about Baztan after the trilogy.

I really enjoyed the unravelling of the plot. The development of the characters and their interactions was also interesting and entertaining. I had guessed what would happen at the end with the baby but it didn’t spoil my enjoyment of the book. I love the writing and I’m already looking forward to the third book of the trilogy.
