The actual title of this story should have been something along the lines of "The Golden Prince." But the publishers (probably correctly) assumed that cute animals sell better to kids.

However, leaving aside the fact that Patch the Lightning Pup is a minor, supporting character at best, this is still a welcome deviation from the formula of the first three audiobooks. With the protagonist being tempted by the 'Dark Side,' or rather, the 'Solid Gold Side' in a moment of resentment as he prioritises praise over doing genuine good. Inadvertently causing a great deal of harm before finally being reminded who his true friends and what his true goals are.
