Mma Ramotswe and Mma Makutsi have always relied on the advice of the classic guide to their trade, The Principles of Private Detection. But who is the eminent author, Mr Clovis Andersen, and what if he were to come to Botswana? That seems a very unlikely possibility, and yet . . . When Mr Andersen visits Botswana on holiday, he is delighted and intrigued to stumble across a roadside sign that reveals the existence of the No.1 Ladies' Detective Agency. Professional courtesy suggests that he call and announce himself. Meanwhile, Mma Makutsi and Phuti Radiphuti are embarking on married life and building a new house - a tricky business under any circumstances but especially hazardous when the name of the contractor is the Joy and Light Building Company.©2012 Alexander McCall Smith Crime Fiction Detective Fiction Literature & Fiction Mystery Women Sleuths Women's Fiction Africa

Adjou Andoh is the only person who can narrate these wonderful audiobooks.
I love the way stories unfold, cases are solved. It will be a sad day when Alexander McCall Smith stops writing about Mma Ramotswe and the rest of the team.

Another wonderful book!

This is the most abridged of all the abridged in the series. Quite a lot cut out that I enjoyed in the original. But why? Why Mma/Rra? Is it necessary to shorten these stories when we are here for the entire journey? Like Mma Ramotswe in her little white van, we are not in a rush to get from A to B. Each word is Precious for the telling. Especially for those of us who can't read or have insomnia and need the comfort of these stories in the middle of the night - why not gift us with the joy of every word? The complete story? Please, powers that be of the audiobook universe. We need all the words. That is well known
