Summary

I had high expectations for this based on the name alone. It started off well and I was convinced I had found my new favourite cozy read with the bonus of lots of bookish talk. However, it became pretty clear about a quarter of the way through or maybe even before that, that this was not going to go the way I expected.

I loved the premise. I mean two bookworms working alongside eachother in a bookshop who fall in love, what's not there to love? But the author just exaggerated everything. Everything felt excessive, forced and after a while irritating— especially the humour.

The romance felt luke walm and extremely juvenile. I had to keep reminding myself I was reading about adults in their 30's and not teenagers. The protagonist was too clumsy and way too negative about herself that it exceeded the thin line of humorous and relatable to annoying and unbelievable.

It had it's good moments which were mainly the bookish talk but everything else just didn't work for me. It could have easily been 100 pages shorter.
