A handful of men escape a Russian POW camp and make their way to Poland to alert whatever governments are left that the Russians are planning a strike simply called Operation A. They discover a world that has changed, devastated by plague and war, but where some groups are struggling to rebuild civilization while others continue to serve dead ideologies.
The group becomes "Recon Nine" and sets out to track down the higher command from the prison camp who are instrumental in Operation A.
